Mi Rancho Tequila sells two futures contracts for $750 a bottle
Mi Rancho Tequila of Kansas City, Kan., sold the first two tequila futures contracts ever in 500-piece lots at $750 a bottle.
Hermitage Spirit Corp. has the international distribution rights for Mi Rancho Tequila and the rights to put a super-premium version called Mi Rancho Legacy on the futures market. It made Mi Rancho Tequila the world’s first company with a tequila future on the market. The Legacy line will be 8 years old and sold in hand-blown decanters with a limited release of only 5,300 bottles. The first two 500-piece lots were sold to an investor in France and an investor in Canada.
